Tibetan committees
Central committee
The role of the Central Committee is to represent the
local committees, liaise with the international headquarters and oversee
projects in the field.
It has 17 members and is made up as follows:
- A tulku
- A lama representing the monastery
- A lama representing the College
- The head doctor of the hospital
- A woman responsible for health education
in the villages and among the nomads
- A man and a woman responsible for education
- A representative from each of the nine villages
- A representative of the nomads
Local committees
Each village has a local committee with five members:
- An experienced and respected village elder
- A young man who is the father of a family
- A young woman
One member is elected as representative to the Central
Committee.
